Australian on-screen personality Sharon McKenzie is a professional news anchor for the NewNight on the Sky News Live. She likewise runs and hosts a variety of evening programs such as Late Agenda and Paul Murray Live, Richo.
Born in Sydney, Mckenzie earned a Communications degree, a Broadcast Journalism degree and an arts degree in English Literature at the Canberra University. She started her career as a reporter and presenter at the Capital Television Canberra. Later, she moved to the Prime Television Newcastle in the year 1995. There she got an opportunity to fill in as a reporter as well as a presenter.
With raising passion for the journalism biz, she slowly climbed the stairs making way to her destiny. She originally joined SKY NEWS in the year 1999 as a producer. At this point, she possessed valuable and respectable experience of 18 years as a reporter that she brought to the evening news desk. In the year 2002, McKenzie launched SKY News’ first ever dedicated breakfast News Service. From that point forward she has secured a large line of global and national recognition.
Sharon McKenzie was the first one to cover the fury of the 2002 bombings in Bali. She also interviewed soldiers live during the time when Iraq war was at the height of Iraq war in 2003. Sharon headed the SKY NEWS live to the final breathtaking release moments of the Beaconsfield Miners in Tasmania in 2006. Mackenzie was also a part of the live on-air team which was covering the sad and grieved moments of the Martin Place siege in Sydney. The team reporting efforts helped unfold the harrowing crisis by 2014.
In the year 2015, together with Stan Grant, Sharon presented and anchored the daytime coverage of the ANZAC Day Centenary live on the SKY NEWS right from the War Memorial based in Sydney. Moreover, she has hosted the Prime Minister’s Citizenship ceremony for twice in Canberra. The first was in 2008 whereas the second was in 2010. She also presented the live coverage of the same events on the SKY NEWS. Moreover, Sharon has always been passionate and curious about the Australian products and has involved herself in a range of Award-winning gourmet food products.
She has been hitched to Paul, and together they have two kids: Madaleine and Gus.
