In 1988 Lara Logan started working as a news reporter for Sunday Tribune in Durban during her studies for a year. She then worked for the city’s Daily News. Logan later worked for Reuters Television in Africa in 1992 as a senior producer.

Later Lara worked with ITN and Fox/Sky, ABC News, European Broadcast Union, and NBC. She also reported on incidents like 1998 United States embassy bombings in Nairobi and Tanzania and also Kosovo war when she worked with CNN. In 2000 Lara was hired by GMTV Breakfast Television as a correspondent.

She also has apologized to CBS This Morning for her inaccurate report at 60 Minutes about the Benghazi attack on 8th November 2013. Logan forcefully took leave of absence due to errors in the Benghazi report on 26th November 2013.
