Tracy Letts
Tracy Letts was born on July 4, 1965, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. His father was an actor who taught English and his mother was a bestselling novelist. Due to this artistic home, Letts was interested in story and theatre from the beginning. After completing school, he relocated to Chicago and became a member of the Steppenwolf Theatre Company, where he started making a name for himself.
Theatre Career
Letts was widely known when he wrote August: Osage County in 2007. The play won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama and the Tony Award for Best Play. Besides August: Osage County, he also wrote other plays such as Killer Joe, Bug, and Man from Nebraska, which was a Pulitzer Prize nominee.

Some of his works initially premiered at Steppenwolf before being moved to Broadway. Also, he was shortlisted again for a Pulitzer for The Minutes, which explored political satire and municipal government.
Career as an Actor
Aside from writing, Letts has enjoyed a fulfilling career as an actor. He performed on Broadway, receiving a Tony Award for Best Actor for Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? in 2012. He then performed in award-winning plays like The Realistic Joneses and All My Sons, demonstrating his skill with both contemporary and classic theatre.
