Ericka Hunter Yang was born in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, on May 8, 1982, to a Chinese-born Hong Kong father and a Canadian mother. She grew up in the Nepean suburb and attended a public performing arts high school. Ericka’s ethnic background is multicultural, with Chinese, Dutch, German, and English heritage. She has an older sister, Vanessa, and a younger brother, Warren Yang, who is a former gymnast and actor.
