Jon Walmsley is a professional entertainer who merged an acting career with music in a career spanning over five decades. Born in Blackburn, Lancashire, England, in 1956, Walmsley moved to the USA in his childhood and launched his performing career at age eight as a singing, guitar-playing prodigy.
From Child Performer to TV Star
Walmsley was a budding star from a very young age. As a child artist, he charmed everyone with his innate talent and persona while he was in the learning phase of singing and guitar playing.
Some of his earlier TV appearances throughout the 1960s were on Combat! Daniel Boone and My Three Sons undoubtedly built up his acting skills and laid a platform for his future success.
The Waltons: A Defining Role
It wasn’t until Walmsley took on the role of Jason Walton in the hit television series The Waltons from 1972 to 1981 that he finally struck gold. Voicing a Disney Classic
Apart from his guest appearances in television series, Walmsley lent his voice to some Disney Winnie the Pooh productions, such as Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day in 1968 and The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh in 1977.
He gave this cute character his voice, suiting his warm and charming personality so well, earning him a reputation for versatility in the field of performance.

During his acting career, Walmsley also branched out into being a successful multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and producer. He continued to play with Richard Marx when he took off on tour late in 1980, and he also played on several of Marx’s film clips.
