Introduction, Early Life, and Education
Lara Logan was born on 29 March 1971 in Durban, South Africa. She is a famous South African radio journalist and war correspondent. Lara studied at Durban Girl’s College during his high school. In 1992 he graduated from University of Natal with a degree in commerce. She also went at Alliance Francaise in Paris to earn a diploma in French culture, language and history.
Since 1988 he started working as a news reporter for Sunday Tribune in Durban during her studies for a year. She then worked for city’s Daily News. She then worked for Reuters Television in Africa in 1992 as a senior producer. Later she worked with ITN and Fox/Sky, ABC News, European Broadcast Union and NBC. She also reported on incidents like 1998 United States embassy bombings in Nairobi and Tanzania and also Kosovo war when she worked with CNN. In 2000 she was hired by GMTV Breakfast Television as a correspondent.
She as a freelance correspondent worked with CBS News Radio. While working for GMTV in Afghanistan in November 2001 she interviewed American British backed Northern Alliance commander General Babajan at the Bagram Air Base. In 2002 she was offered as a full-fledged correspondent position by CBS News. For more than four years she reported about the battlefield including war zones in Afghanistan and Iraq. She mostly reported for 60 Minutes II. She also contributed for The Early Show, CBS Evening News and Face The Nation. She was also promoted as Chief foreign affairs correspondent for CBS News in February 2006.

Victim during War
On 3 February 2011 Egyptian Army arrested her and her CBS for one night while they were covering Egyptian Revolution. According to her when they were captured the crew were handcuffed and blindfolded and also were advised to leave the country. She was also sexually arrested and was beaten while she covered the celebrations in Tahrir Square following Hosni Mubarak’s resignation on 15 February 2011. On 1 May 2011 she was interviewed by CBS 60 minutes.
She also have delivered speech criticizing Obama Administration’s statements about War in Afghanistan before the annual luncheon of Better Government Association. She also have apologized to CBS This Morning for her inaccurate report at 60 Minutes about Benghazi attack on 8 November 2013. She forcefully took leave of absence due to errors in Benghazi report on 26 November 2013.

Lara got married to Jason Siemon in 1998. He is a former European leagues professional basketball player from lowa. They later got divorced. Later she got married to Joseph Burkett in 2008. He is a U.S. government defense contractor from Texas. The couple met each other in Afghanistan the year before. They currently resides in Washington, D.C. The couple is blessed with a son named Joseph Washington V and a beautiful daughter named Lola.
