Lisa Valastro

Lisa Valastro is an American television personality and wife of “Cake Boss” star Buddy Valastro. She has developed a nature of loving and exemplary family values; she is a favorite woman among many more and gives insight into life about being a mother and a partner.

Early Life and Meeting Buddy

Elisabetta Belgiovine, now known as Lisa Valastro, was raised as a first-generation Italian American. Her mother, Gloria, had emigrated from Italy, so Lisa was taught the importance of family and heritage.

Then, at age 19, Lisa met Buddy Valastro, soon to be the star of “Cake Boss,” through mutual family members. It was a chance encounter that would bloom into a lifelong partnership.

Marriage and Family

After some years of dating, Lisa and Buddy Valastro tied the knot on October 14, 2001, and the beautiful wedding created the perfect setting for a journey that was to begin between the two of them. With the passing years, their love has become even more robust because it was strong enough to make them renew their wedding vows on a Disney cruise, ten years after they were married.

Lisa and Buddy have added four children to their family: Sofia, Bartolo “Buddy” III, Marco, and Carlo—all of whom have appeared on the family’s hit reality show, “Cake Boss.”

Reality TV Career

When Lisa’s husband’s bakery, Carlo’s Bakery, became the TLC reality show “Cake Boss,” everything changed. Her husband and she became stars of the show, as did many members of their extended family. Her innate grace, sense of humor, and dedication to Buddy made her a very early fan favorite on the show.

Today, Lisa’s social media following has grown to over 700,000 followers on Instagram alone, allowing her to share bits and pieces of her family’s life to connect with fans.

Health Issues

Lisa has, however, had her share of health challenges despite all the joys of family life. In 2021, she underwent a hysterectomy after recurring bouts of pain. She had her right ovary and fallopian tubes removed during surgery, as well as her uterus, due to a cyst.

Furthermore, Lisa was diagnosed with fibroadenomas, non-cancerous tumors of the breast, which placed her in the dilemma of choosing treatment options between mastectomy and regular biopsies. Amidst all this, Lisa has remained strong with the support of her family and faith.

Appearances on Other Shows

Though Lisa rose into the limelight from her appearances on the show “Cake Boss,” she has appeared as a guest on many other famous shows. In 2018, Lisa appeared in an episode of the show “Extra” and in 2019 on the show “Bake You Rich.”

Lisa most recently appeared in the 2020 episode of the show “Buddy vs. Duff” in support of her husband’s baking competitions.

Philanthropy and Advocacy

Apart from her fame on reality TV, Lisa is known for her many great deeds of philanthropy and advocacy. She used this platform to bring forth awareness regarding various issues, like the study of breast cancer and families in dire need.

She has gained admiration from her fans and respect from fellow peers through her strong commitment to positively touching the world.
