Maria Quiban introduces herself as a weather anchor who has been working for KTTV/KCOP-TV since 2000. She has also been host of mommylovestech.com. Born in October 28, 1970, Quiban has been working in the industry for more than 16 years. With her strong voice of command and presentation style, she has been able to show her strong presence as an anchor. Born in Maria T. Aviso in Cebu City, P.I. she spent 9 years of childhood days there. She moved to Honolulu along with her parents when she was 9 and lived there till 1998. Quiban earned degree in Broadcast Journalism from University of Hawaii at Manoa. She joined University in 1994 and graduated in 1996. Quiban also attended Mississippi State University and received certificate in Broadcast Meteorology. She studied there from 2002 to 2005 for three years.
She started her journalism career in 1995 before she graduated. In June 1995, she joined NBC News Hawaii and worked in the position of Weather anchor for 3 years until 1998. In March 2012, Quiban joined QooL Media Studios where she held the position of Executive Producer/Co-Founder. Since then she has been working for QooL. Along with QooL she has also been hosting mommylovestech.com as a producer.
Quiban launched the website in March 2011 to bring the coolest, sexiest and most practical information to the moms who love tech. She found other website for tech savvy very dull and boring. Those website are created by IT nerd and no one else, so with bunch of really cute geeks she started mommyloves.tech. Her website includes information on latest must-have gadgets, the latest news and information for technology news. Besides information on IT development, her website also gives information on fashion and entertainment too. Quiban stated that despite of its name, her website is not only for mom, it’s dedicated to all tech savvy citizens.
Quiban has been married with her husband since she was teenage. She tied knot with her husband in a ceremony held in Hawaii. When her oldest son was enjoying his adulthood, Quiban gave birth to her second child. Being mother at the teenage, there is gap of 23 years between her first child and the second child. She gave birth to her first son Desmond in 1987. She went to Los Angeles to work in the L.A. news market during 2000. In December 2010, she gave birth to her second child with her current husband Sean. The couple seems happy together being blessed with two children.
During her free time, Quiban prefers to spend time talking to single young mothers about how they can be a successful and loving mother of their children.
