Michaelle Jean who is Canadian citizens followed by the position of 27th Governor General of Canada from the year 2005 to 2010 and is also serving as journalist. Michaelle was born in the date 1957, September 6 in the small place of Haiti, Port-au-Prince to the parents Roger and Luce. Both her parents has the profession of teachers, her father hold the position of Principle to an Elite Protestant Private School in the same place.
EARLY YEARS & CAREER
Back in the days, the situation in Haiti was very miserable and disturbed due to political instability, in those situation Michaelle did not went to school and instead was home school. The situation was getting worse and worse and as a result her father was abducted and was tortured heavily due to which they were kind of forced to leave the country. The family moved to Canada in the year 1967 and settled in Quebec but the family issues started to trouble the Roger as a result the father and mother got separated. Jean graduated from the University of Montreal and got the degree of Bachelor of Arts in Italian and Hispanic languages and literature. Later on she attended the same university in order to get Master degree in arts taking the major as literature. In her later life, she didn’t leave the study and continue it joining the University of Perugia and Catholic University of Milan.
Michaelle Jean bio covers her work history right after her graduation and at the time of university where she was more attracted towards the social people. Jean moved to Haiti with her friends and was appointed to National Film Board Producer as a researcher and interviewer in the year 1987. In the consecutive year she was hired by Radio-Canada and was responsible to handle the task of reporting, film making and broadcasting of various networks program which includes Le Monde ce Soir, and Virages. The major point came when she joined Reseau de Information (RDI) and run the program like Le Monde, Ce Soir, IEdition Quebecoise, Horizons etc.
By the end of 2004 she was already well established journalist of the Canada and in the year 2005, Jean was elected as the 27th Governor General of Canada and became one of the first black female to hold the position of Governor. During her tenure as Governor, Jean major task or reform was to promote social welfare including equal rights women and women empowerment for which she has been highly appreciated and has also received many awards for her continuous efforts in bringing peace into different marginalized groups.

Mentioning about her personal life, there is no account of prior of Jean indulging in relationship and making boyfriend however during the time when she was in Caribbean for the documentary of Martinique in the year 1991, she fell in love with film’s director Jean-Daniel Lafond and got married with him after couple of years. The couple love and bond is still strong and is pretty far from divorce things. They have adopted one daughter named Marie-Eden.
Michaelle Jean was honored by Amnesty International Canada with Journalism Award in the year 1995 followed by another great award of Canadian Cinema and Television Prix Gemeaux in the year 2001 for the best interviewer of the year. Similarly in the year 2009, she has been honored by United Nations Development Fund (UNIFEM) Canada and Board of Governors Recognition Achievement Award for her work in gender equality, human rights and women violence.
