Jaggi Vasudev was born on 3 September 1957 in Mysore, Karnataka and was the youngest of four children. He was honored with the highest civilian award Padma Vibhushan award by the Government of India.

1. Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev is Enlightened

Enlightened is referred to as Dwijas which means twice-born and Jaggi Vasudev is also included in the name list of an enlightened spiritual master and is living an Enlighted Spiritual Master.

2. Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev Established Isha Foundation

Isha Foundation is a non-profit organization founded by Sadhguru. The main motive of this organization is to create an inclusive culture toward global harmony.

He established this foundation to run several projects to improve people’s physical and mental awareness and the main project is Isha is Project Green Hand, which aims to plant 114 million trees throughout Tamilnadu State.

3. Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev fell in love with motorcycles

As a youngster, Jaggi Vasudev fell in love with the motorcycle and had a great interest in adventures. When he was young, he traveled many places in the country on his motorcycle with his friends.

Jaggi Vasudev started doing Yoga at the age of 12. He did a short course with his teacher Malladihalli Sri Raghavendra Swamiji and continued practice as he thought that it changed his life.

4. Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev and Rishi Prabhakar- A curious connection

There was rumored that Jaggi Vasudev betrayed his guru Rishi Prabhakar but the fact is: Sadhguru’s guru Rishi Prabhakar will not claim him to be his student as Jaggi has not lived up to his word and there is no secrecy in these matters.

Rishi Prabhakar, never himself said anything about Sadhguru but he disciple Raviji did go on record and wrote a blog in 2007:

“The arguments and counter-arguments about Jaggi and his life are interesting. One fact I wish to share is we both got trained by Guruji Rishi Prabhakar in the years 1984-86.”

He added:

“We did SSY classes together and we started the Hyderabad center of Rishi Samskruti Vidya Kendra under Guruji. Then he was sent by Guruji Rishi Prabhakar to Coimbatore to start center there. He renamed himself as Sadguru Jaggi Vasudev and became popular.”
