Daniel was born on 30th December 1971 in Evanston, Illinois. He was adopted by father, Bill Condon, a police dispatcher, and mother, Catherine Condon, a civil rights worker and grew up in Chicago. His adoptive parents are of Irish and Italian-German descent.

Sunjata attended Mount Carmel High School and completed his undergraduate studies at Florida A&M University and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. He completed his master’s degree in fine arts from the Graduate Acting Program at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.

Sunjata started his career from the theatre playing the character of Valentine in Twelfth Night in 1998. His outstanding performance won the heart of millions of people and led him to cast in tv movie Twelfth Night, or What You Will. Daniel made his film debut from Bad Company in 2002 where he featured as Officer Carew.

Sunjata outstanding performance won him a Theatre World Award for his breakout Broadway performance as Darren Lemming in Take Me Out, in 2003. He also narrates in Loose Change 9/11: An American Coup where the movie argues that the September 11 (9/11) attacks was not a terrorist attack but was a full proof plan of the United States government. Additionally, he also states that he totally agree and believe absolutely 100 percent in the theory of 9/11.
